The annual Infratects Top Gun Conference will provide the Oracle Hyperion EPM user community with a forum to share knowledge around the design, setup, installation, configuration, management and support of best-in-class EPM environments, without any sales or marketing content. The opportunity for attendees to get to meet each other, catch-up and share experiences, something that does not happen often enough in the EPM world. Join keynote speakers as well as a selected group of Oracle Hyperion EPM experts, for this two-day, informative and collaborative event.
New to this years edition is the preconference Training Day on Thursday the 16th of March hosted by Keyteach.

The Top Gun agenda sessions and speakers will be carefully selected in order to provide our attendees with the best and most up to date Oracle EPM (Hyperion) related content. As with any conference, Infractects also provides various opportunities for networking and socializing with your peers and the industry experts presenting at the event.

The first day will be completely new. This day is hosted by Keyteach and offers attendees the possibillity to attend multiple training sessions and get CPE credits.

Hands-on Training: Jython Scripting for FDMEE (duration: 1 day, level: Intermediate)
Audience: System Administrators and Implementation Consultants

In this practical hands-on session, you’ll be introduced to the Jython scripting language used within FDMEE. Explore core scripting techniques and common pitfalls in a friendly, tutor-led environment. This session is essential for anybody needing to maintain scripts within FDMEE.
In this session, students will learn how to create Import, Mapping, Custom and Event scripts to extend and improve upon the default behaviours of FDMEE. Gain an understanding of Jython syntax and data structures along with commonly used external modules and APIs. Explore best practice methods and learn techniques for error handling and debugging.

Hands-on Training: EPM Systems Support & Maintenance (duration: 1 day, level: Intermediate)
Audience: EPM Administrators and System Support Professionals

Explore the underlying concepts and functionality related to EPM systems that enable you to diagnose problems and resolve issues effectively. This one-day course is a must for system administrators and support professionals that help to maintain Oracle EPM environments.
Learn the techniques to apply, test and potentially roll-back patched releases of your EPM products. Get to grips with Shared Services and find out how to manage users and groups including configuring external directories and managing provisioning. Find out how to troubleshoot effectively, fine tune EPM products and examine log and audit files to diagnose and resolve issues. You’ll learn how to perform backups and how to migrate application artifacts between development, test and production environments. This course also provides an introduction to WebLogic and explores how it underpins all aspects of EPM.



Several key notes will be hosted by knowledge partners. Sessions can be chosen to attend from four different tracks: Functional, Technical, Customer Stories or Training tracks.

Hands-on Training: Integrating DRM and FDMEE (2 hours)
Audience: System Administrators and Implementation Consultants
Track: Training

In this hands-on training session, you’ll discover how DRM can be used in conjunction with FDMEE to manage mappings and metadata, opening up new possibilities for managing data transformation tasks.
Find out how to combine DRM and FDMEE to manage ERP source metadata to EPM target dimension member mappings. You’ll also explore how FDMEE accesses this detail directly. As metadata changes are made in DRM, corresponding mapping details can be updated and incorporated into the standard, repeatable Import, Validate and Export processes within FDMEE. If you currently use DRM to manage metadata or are interested in exploring the possibilities that this new integration now brings, this session is ideal for you.

Hands-on Training: Reports and Dashboards with OBIEE (2 hours)
Audience: System Administrators, Implementation Consultants and Financial Analysts
Track: training

Explore the techniques required to develop efficient and effective reports and dashboards within OBIEE. This introductory session explores how to build analyses over a previously deployed repository (RPD) allowing EPM data to be presented in a clear and compelling way.
This session covers the design, development and publishing of reports and dashboards based on an EPM data source. Understand the layout of a Subject Area and how to interrogate your EPM data source for relevant details to report on. See how multiple “Views” of data can be added to the Compound Layout, reusing the Filters and Criteria that are used to define a reporting point-of-view.



Hands-On Training: Introducing PBCS (Planning and Budgeting Cloud) (1,25 hours)
Audience: Those interested in a hands-on appreciation of PBCS.
Track: Training

Learn how to plan, budget and forecast in a more agile and effective way using Oracle’s Planning and Budgeting Cloud Service. This introductory session is ideal for those interested in gaining hands-on experience with PBCS.

This introductory training session will enable customers to experience the cloud-based PBCS environment hosted by Oracle. Find out how PBCS can enable an organisation to adopt world-class planning and budgeting applications quickly and efficiently.Discover how PBCS can be used to model, govern and enhance the planning process within your organisation. We’ll navigate the key components of PBCS applications and work with cloud-specific features such as Smart Forms and Sandboxes. If you have an “on-premise” planning solution and are considering migration to the Cloud, or if you just want to gain hands-on experience with PBCS, this introductory session is ideal for you.

Hands-on Training: An Introduction to Hybrid Essbase Databases (1,25 hours)
Audience: Developers, System Administrators, Support and Implementation Consultants.
Track: Training

Hybrid Essbase databases can offer the combined functionality of both BSO and ASO outlines. This session will examine the configuration of Hybrid databases, their advantages and potential pitfalls.
In this session you’ll examine the pros and cons of BSO and ASO databases and how Hybrid mode attempts to combine the functionality of both. Learn how to configure a Hybrid mode database and find out how to ensure that it is functioning correctly. Gain an appreciation of Hybrid calculations and aggregations and explore the potential applications and limitations of this approach.



Top Gun 2017 will be made available for a nominal registration fee. The registration fee covers all sessions on Friday and Saturday, an invitation to the welcome reception and social event, conference materials, as well as food and beverage for the duration of the conference. For the Training Day a separate fee is applicable.
