For clients who contract our management services, Infratects makes use of an internal Systems Monitoring solution in order to monitor the servers that make up the customers' Exchange Environment. This solution is non-intrusive (i.e. no installation of software on the servers to be monitored is required) and takes place either over a dedicated secure-VPN connection, or can be configured (with a local collection server) to use an HTTPS outbound connection to the monitoring server.

The monitoring solution provides you with the following features:

  • 24x7 monitoring (once every 5 minutes) of all servers.
  • 24x7 Event Log monitoring of all servers.
  • On-demand security vulnerability scanning.
  • Automated alerts (via e-mail) of any serious errors.
  • 24x7 collection of performance data from all devices.
  • 24x7 monitoring of all key Application-Related services and log files.

As a result of either the manual or automated monitoring and
alerting or as a result of contact from our customers' staff or users in the event of a serious issue being experienced by the environment Infratects staff can, with the appropriate authority, act upon the issues being experienced.

Key benefits offered by the automated solution include:

  • Web-based portal for customers in which the uptime, performance, faults, etc. of their specific environment can be easily reviewed
  • On-demand reporting for up to 12-months of performance, availability, fault data
  • The ability to see performance issues developing within the environment
  • Continual security monitoring and logging of the environment combined with the ability to report for up to a two-month period on all user logins/attempts on the environment
  • E-mail notification of all issues to the right people
  • The guarantee of Exchange-experienced IT-Staff looking after you environment

Costs related to this solution are dependant on the size of the environment and the contract duration. Implementation of this service typically takes approximately three man-days with a period of one month in order to set and tune all alerts and thresholds.
